Marc van den Berg

In 1983 I graduated from the Dutch agricultural university in the subject field environmental studies, more specifically (indoor) air pollution & health. I have been working in ICT since 1984. I started out as a programmer, became an all-round ICT & networking specialist, developer and researcher, then project leader and finally departmental head and manager. Most of my career in ICT has been in the R&D-area, but I also managed a services & support department for several years.

From 1997 on I worked at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, at first at the Computing Centre (IC). My first job was the management of a project to deliver modern computing and networking facilities to several faculties within the old Amsterdam city centre. After that I became head of the PC & LAN Services department, head of Services & Support, head of Internet & Media Services and finally head of R&D.

Since June 2005 I work at the University Library where I became head of the department of Electronic Services.
